Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Color Palette (the “Site”, available at www.colorpalette.shop) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our free color tools — including the palette generator, image color picker, color playground, paint colors catalog, palette exporter, and color match game.

We designed this Site to be usable without an account and without handing over personal data. Most tools run entirely in your browser. This policy describes the limited cases where information does reach us or our service providers, including our advertising partner Google.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily

• Contact form: if you write to us through our contact page, we receive your name, email address, and message contents so we can reply.
• Newsletter: if you subscribe to our mailing list, we store your email address solely to send the emails you requested. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Information stored on your device only

• Your generated palettes, locked colors, game high scores, and interface preferences (such as light/dark theme) are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically receive certain technical data when you visit:

• Log data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, pages visited, and timestamps. This is standard hosting infrastructure logging used for security and aggregate analytics.
• Analytics data: usage patterns such as which tools are used and for how long, collected by the analytics services described below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build user profiles for our own marketing.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We and our third-party providers use the following categories:

• Essential/local storage: browser storage that remembers your theme preference, saved palettes, and game progress. These contain no personal identifiers.
• Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to help us understand aggregate traffic and usage.
• Advertising cookies: set by Google AdSense as described in Section 4 below.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; each browser manufacturer provides instructions on its website. Blocking advertising cookies will not prevent you from using any part of this Site.

3. Analytics Services

We use two analytics products to understand how the Site is used, both provided by third parties acting on our behalf:

• Google Analytics 4(Google Ireland Limited): collects pseudonymized usage events such as page views and tool interactions. You can review Google’s privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy and install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Vercel Analytics (Vercel Inc., our hosting provider): collects privacy-friendly, aggregated page-view metrics without using cookies or fingerprinting individual visitors. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense Disclosure

This Site is free because it displays advertising served by Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-1190708901416490). Specifically:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

5. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

• Operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
• Understand which tools are useful so we can improve them;
• Respond to messages you send us;
• Send newsletter emails you explicitly requested;
• Detect, prevent, and address abuse or technical issues.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with the service providers named in this policy — Google (analytics and advertising), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and the email delivery provider used by our contact and newsletter forms — and only to the extent necessary to operate the Site. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the Site and its users.

7. Data Retention

Contact-form correspondence is kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics data is retained according to the respective provider’s default retention periods. Data in your browser storage persists until you clear it.

8. Your Rights

GDPR (EU/UK visitors)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of, and port your personal data. Where processing is based on consent (e.g., advertising cookies), you may withdraw consent at any time via your browser settings or Google Ads Settings. To exercise any right, contact us as described below; we respond within one month.

CCPA/CPRA (California residents)

California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, deletion of personal information, and correction of inaccurate information. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA as amended; advertising cookies are set by Google under its own disclosures above.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
